Serra points out the scarcity of information on Zuwāra in the traditional orthodox Arab geographical literature. On p. 74 the tombes that are being visited are mentioned. P. 75: previously there were three competing fractions in Zuwāra: Zuwāra Willūl, which corresponds with the central and oldest part of Zuwāra; Zuwāra Millīta, east of present Zuwāra; Zuwāra proper. First the groups of Zuwāra Willūl and Zuwāra Millīta ceased battling with each other, and finally Sīdī Saʿīd pacified all groups and united them into one group.
