Conclusion: according to lexicons and dictionaries the pronunciation is “Ibāḍiyya”. In the spoken language the custom was “Abāḍiyya”. Under the influence of the printed texts, there is a tendency towards “Ibāḍiyya” in the spoken language. See also Bulletin des Études Arabes, nr. 5 (Nov.-Dec. 1941), p. 146. O.c. 1943, p. 19: Dalet, from Algiers, says that in al-Kāmil of al-Mubarrad (ed. Wright, Leipzig 1864) five times ʿAbdl. b. Ibāḍ al-Murrī can be found (pp. 604, 1-9; 615, 1-3, 10-11; 618, 1,11).

Comparisons are being made with: Ism. b. Mūsà al-Jayṭālī’s Qanāṭir al-Khayrāt; Abū Yaʿqūb Yūsuf b. Ibr. al-Warjlānī’s K. al-Dalīl li-Ahl al-ʿUqūl; ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. Ibr. al-Muṣʿabī’s Sharḥ ʿalà ‘l-Qaṣīda al-Nūniyya al-musammāt bi’l-Nūr. Moreno researches the similarity of the Ibāḍī theological doctrines in the East and in the West, making also comparisons with the Muʿtazilites.

An evaluation of 1939 put the number of Algerians living in Tunis at 13.000: 3.800 from the region of Constantine, 1350 from Algiers, 500 from Oran, 2300 Swāfa (people from the Oued Souf), 2000 from Ouargla, 2100 from Twāt, 765 Mīzābīs. In 1947 these figures were: 12.000, 7000 (incl. Kabyle Berbers), 15 or 20 completely assimilated families, 10.000, 6000, 7000-8000, 700-800. Pp. 328-334 on the Mīzābīs.

Seven secret reports. The third report (pp. 20-28) is entitled: the rebellion against the Sultan of Muscat.* It outlines the formation of the Imamate of Sālim b. Rāshid al-Kharūṣī in 1913 and follows the course of the struggle between the Sultan and the Imam up to 1916.
